Cold insulation against condensation and corrosion

Cold insulation counteracts condensation on cold pipework and plant and guards against dripping water and corrosion. We carry out cold insulation with rubber and other materials suited to cold insulation, with a sheet-metal cladding if you wish.

What cold insulation covers

  • Cold insulation of cold pipework and plant
  • Protection against condensation
  • Avoidance of damage from dripping water and corrosion
  • Insulation thickness matched to the ambient conditions, so that the temperature at the insulation surface does not, as far as possible, fall below the dew point
  • Sheet-metal cladding on request

We make the sheet-metal cladding ourselves; the types of sheet are listed under sheet-metal cladding and fabrication. For heat-carrying pipework and plant see heat insulation.

Work carried out to DIN 4140 and in accordance with AGI worksheets.

Questions on cold insulation

What is cold insulation for?
Cold insulation counteracts the formation of condensation and so guards against damage from dripping water and corrosion on cold pipework and plant.
What does the insulation thickness depend on?
The insulation thickness is determined according to the ambient conditions and the dew point. The temperature at the insulation surface should, as far as possible, never fall below the dew point.
Do you clad cold insulation in sheet metal?
Yes, if you wish we clad the cold insulation in a sheet-metal cladding from our own fabrication.
